Clinician Information

In order to continue providing the local community with low-cost counseling services, Turning Point uses the support from local Volunteer Trainees and Associates. All of our Clinicians are training to become Licensed Marriage Family Therapists, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors, or Licensed Clinical Social Workers. Turning Point Trainees and Associates are providing counseling services in-person or via Telehealth to receive hours towards graduation or their state license. Once they have completed their hours, Clinicians are then able to sit for the State License Exam to become Licensed Clinicians.

Trainees are Clinicians who are currently enrolled in a Graduate School Program, and are receiving dual supervision in Practicum courses and on-site at Turning Point. Associates are Clinicians who have received their diploma and completed their Graduate School Program, and are working to complete their 3000 hours of counseling services before being eligible for licensure. Once 3000 hours have been completed, the Clinician is required to take a State license Exam regulated by the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

Clinicians are guided by the regulation set forth by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, and also supervised by Turning Point’s dedicated Supervisors who are Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists or Psychologists. All Clinicians receive Supervision weekly and are also overseen by Turning Point’s Project Managers. Clinicians are expected to uphold the values and competency as dictated by the governing Law and Ethics of our industry, We, at Turning Point, also strive to provide ongoing training to equip Clinicians with all of the necessary experience to become effective Clinicians.

If you would like to apply to become a clinician at Turning Point Center for Families, please send resumes and CV’s to our Clinical Director, Juan Galaviz:  [email protected]
